While many of their peers leaned strictly into grit and politics, The Adicts fused high-energy punk with theatrical presentation inspired by A Clockwork Orange. Frontman Monkey’s iconic stage persona became one of the most recognizable images in punk history.
Across decades of relentless touring and cult-favorite records like Songs of Praise and Sound of Music, the band built a reputation for explosive live shows and unwavering independence. They’ve outlasted trends, scenes, and entire waves of punk — proving that spectacle, hooks, and DIY stubbornness can coexist just fine.
